I’m Going to Europe!

Saving with Amy's European Adventure

I haven’t really done a formal announcement yet so I thought it was only necessary to finally do one!

I’m headed to Europe! We got a call from my husband’s work that they wanted to send him to the United Kingdom for business and of course- we said yes! While we are having to foot the bill for myself, they are paying for his trip. I’m considering this half off. ;)

I am so incredibly stoked that I can’t stand it! There has been oodles and oodles of planning going into this 2 week trip, but I know that in the end it is going to be incredible.

Being frugal in a place like the UK is most definitely going to be a challenge. We’ve already made a few executive decisions to not drive and just take the rail the whole time. This will not only save us stress, but I’m thinking its also going to save us money on parking and GAS! Did you know that a gallon of gas in the UK is approximately $8.00? That means that to fill up a 15 gal tank, we’re talking $120! Yep, the trains are where its at.

Anywho, I will be doing a daily update for you guys to keep you updated with what I’m doing and eating and what not. This will be along with all my other normal posting as well. I have a wonderful network of blogger friends who are going to give me a hand so that you won’t miss a thing!

I’m VERY excited and I hope that you’ll join me on my European Journey!

Got a few tips for you for your trip. I am a trvel agent and have been many times.
1st off, for flights if you can get on united, it is well worth it to pay the extra for economy plus you will be much fresher when you get off the plane thanks to the extra legroom, if you can somehow get business even better.
2nd, If you have a capoital one credit card use it, it does not charge an exchange fee whereas all other credit cards will charge a 2-3% fee.
3rd, if you have a friend or know someone going beforehand try to get pounds from them it will be much cheaper then trying to buy pounds at the airport, if you don’t know someone there go through your bank as the exchange rate will be much better, let me know if you want some more tips

Hi Hadlee! Those are wonderful tips! Yes, anything more that you can provide would be just wonderful. We are slowly learning, but started out completely clueless about Europe.
