Social Media Moms Celebration- Day #2

My days at the Social Media Moms Celebration were so amazing that I’ve had to separate them into different posts! Each day brought something new and magical to learn or do or see. Day #2 did not disappoint! Here’s what went down.

Day #2

I started my day by quietly getting up and getting ready without waking my family, who were still sleeping in the room. Us bloggers hopped on a bus that transported us to Epcot’s American Adventure Rotunda. There they showered us with the most lovely breakfast foods that I thoroughly enjoyed! I even had something new- grilled grapefruit! It was ok, nothing too amazing to me.

While eating this feast, Guy Kawasaki came out and spoke to us about using Twitter and how it can work for your blog. I really liked his approach to Twitter, though it seemed a bit unconventional. His talk with us was both insightful and helpful to me because I’m still fairly new on the Twitter scene. He made me laugh and not feel like such an idiot!

Next, it was on to the Family Volunteer Event. Here, they unveiled the world’s largest canned food sculpture! You can view them putting it together here. It was quite magnificent! And Ty Pennington was even there to have us all say “LIFT THOSE BALLOONS!” It was so neat. A few other characters including Kermit the Frog and Mickey and Minnie also showed up for the event.

Later, Kristie and I volunteered by making care packages of much-needed items for Haiti. It was great to see all the people pitching in for a great cause. Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato came to volunteer right after we left! If only I had stayed a few minutes later!

That night, we headed back to Epcot for the event at Future World. It was an outside event so I was worried about it being really cold- the temps were in the forties. But Disney, with all their amazingness had outdoor heaters around all the tables, so we didn’t even notice! They came around with some of the most decadent foods that you can imagine. And then- we were lucky enough to be given a private concert by Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas singing the new Friends for Change song! It won’t even be out until next month! Shortly after their performance, both of them walked right by me. I’m talking within 2 feet! Ah! And of course, I didn’t have the camera handy, so I have no pictures to prove it.

It was one glorious day that I will always remember, thanks to Disney!
