Introducing…Recipes on Saving with Amy! (And Giveaway)

I’ve added a great new feature to this blog that I think will come in handy!

I know that many of you have requested that I feature more recipes, well its happening now! You can now browse as well as submit- recipes! My new tab is located at the top right near my blogroll.

Simply click the tab and you’ll be taken to the Recipes section. From there, you can browse through the categories that range from snacks all the way to main dishes. You can also submit a recipe by clicking “Enter A Recipe”. The form is simply to use and should make it easy to submit. If you would like a preview of your recipe before submitting, you can click on “Preview” and it will pop a small window up for you to view your recipe before submitting. The form does ask for an email, but this is not visible on your recipe.

I do ask that you do not submit any copyrighted recipes.

I have already submited one recipe, but now its YOUR turn! Each week, I am going to feature one reader’s submitted recipe! I am even going to attempt to make it. To get kick off my new Recipes section, I’m going to have a giveaway!

The lucky winner of this giveaway will win a Pasta No More 5 Piece Microwave Pasta Cooker Set! This also comes with a Bonus Cookbook with 50 recipes. This microwave cookware will cook, strain, and store your pasta in one bowl! The extender ring allows for steaming a second food while cooking your main entree in bowl. Super cool!

There will be only ONE method of entry:

Simply submit a recipe into my recipes section! Then leave me a comment with the title of your recipe. Easy as pie!

And feel free to enter frugal recipes as well. We all love dishes that we can make on a budget!

This giveaway will end on Friday, January 29th at 9pm CT.
I will notify the winner on Saturday and they will have 24 hours to respond. If I haven’t heard from them within that time period, I will name a new winner.

*If you enjoy giveaways like this- support Saving with Amy by printing your coupons from the banners on my sidebar.

1 lb. turkey, ground
4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1 cup finely chopped onion
8 oz. hunt’s tomato sauce
1 cup water
1 bottle dark beer (12 oz.)
3 Tablespoons chili powder
2 Tablespoons instant beef bouillon (or 6 cubes)
2 Tablespoons cumin, ground

3. Add the garlic and onion, cook and stir until tender.

4. Add the other half of the meat and the tomato sauce, water, beer, chili powder, bouillon, cumin, paprika, oregano, sugar, coriander, cocoa, and hot sauce. Mix well.

5. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer, covered , for 2 hours.

6. In a small bowl, stir together the cornmeal and flour, then add the warm water and mix well.

7. Stir into chili and cook, covered, for an additional 20 minutes.

8. Serve with a dabble of sour cream and topped with shredded sharp cheese

Enjoy!!

Chocolaty Toffee Saltines

Saltines, enough to cover a cookie sheet
2 sticks of butter
1c. brown sugar
1 12 oz. pkg. chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Put foil to cover the cookie sheet. Lay whole crackers to cover foil filling all areas. Melt butter with brown sugar, then boil stirring for 2 minutes. Pour the butter and brown sugar over the crackers. Bake 4 minutes. Right out of the oven sprinkle chocolate chips over. When chocolate is melted spread to cover. Refrigerate and break or cut into pieces

On the cracker candy, it is a 12oz package of chocolate chips, not 120! Sorry!

Hey guys,

Make sure that you are entering these recipes into the Recipes tab at the top right of the page. Not sure if I made that clear or not.

And please let me know if you have any issues inputting into that form.

Thanks :)

Amy
